From their early years playing shows around Long Island and releasing records on indie labels, through to their Warner Music breakthrough album, Louder Now, in 2006, Taking Back Sunday have built a reputation as one of the USA's most exciting – and hardest-working – bands. Fronted by charismatic vocalist Adam Lazarra, TBS (as they're affectionately known) create music that draws on the rock, pop and punk legacy of the last decade but sounds like nothing their contemporaries are producing. The band's forthcoming album is called New Again – which perfectly sums up the group's new energy. “We kicked around a bunch of different titles, but that one always remained the top of the list, and that’s because it really does feel like a new band,” Lazzara says. “Leading up to this record we took the biggest break that we’ve taken since we started touring just to kind of learn how to be people,” he says laughing. “So with that we just learned how to be friends again.”
