So, a while back I played a gig with a big rock band. We were all back stage in our artist rooms, and a security guard came up and said there were a few people wanting to speak to us at the back fence in the rain. So I went and said hi. There were 10 or so young people there in different groups. One group was a few young boys who must've been around 10-11 years old. I took photos and signed stuff for everyone else as they were more eager, and then turned to those boys to say what up. They asked if I could get the other band to come out! I said I cant, its up to the band, i dont know them.
Disappointed, one of the young dudes got me to sign his hat anyway, and i overheard one of his mates saying "but he's not even that famous" hahaha.
Couple of points in that story - always be good to your fans, because they'll stand in the fucking rain for you, just to say hi. never take for granted how amazing that is. And 2, never get full of yourself, because for all you know they might just want you to get the other guys!
Oh, and I signed that other kids phone too. And got a photo. Didn't smile in it though. That'll learn him.
