I wanted to share some music with you on Soundcloud and chose this recording of myself and Shvidkatsa Official performing Suliko. The song is one of the folk standards from Georgia.
It's based on a poem by Akaki Tseretelil. As with all great writing, there are a myriad of different dimensions to it, but the upper level narrative is this; the speaker has lost her beloved who's name is Suliko. Unable to let go, she roams a graveyard looking for him, finding him, his spirit inside a flower, a nightingale and a star.
Hope you enjoy it.
