We'd like to clear up any confusion about the van break-in yesterday afternoon. The cash donations for Thomas that were stolen were from the shows in Lancaster, Akron, Indianapolis, Lansing, Ann Arbor, and Chicago. Thom has already received the money from the previous shows, including the benefit show at Bowery Ballroom in New York. We've estimated that the amount stolen yesterday was around $700.00. The rest of the show settlements were in the form of checks, which will be a huge pain to sort out, but nothing we can't handle. It's upsetting that we lost a few laptops, cameras, and pedals, but that can all be replaced.
Obviously it's really stupid to leave any amount of cash in your van, even if you think you're in a safe place (like a Whole Foods parking lot in Schaumburg). However, in our experience, there is no safe place for your stuff on the road. We've had equipment/ belongings/ money stolen from dressing rooms, hotel rooms, and even from behind our merch table while we were onstage. Thank you to our fans for supporting us and supporting Thom.
We are continuing to accept donations on behalf of Thomas at our merch table, but the easiest (and safest) way to help is still the gofundme page:
