”On behalf of the group, and I suppose virtually the entire Swedish population I want pay my respect to the genius of and to the loving memory of famed actor Lars Erik ”Brasse” Brännström who passed away yesterday. He was, and will remain a pivotal part of our lives through his amazing cultural and sheer educational contributions to us Swedes. I grew up with his legendary show ”Fem myror är fler än fyra elefanter” (roughly translated to "Five ants outnumbers four elephants”) whose sole agenda was to educate children in a very playful and comedic manner. You didn’t even realize you’re getting lectured as the show was so extremely entertaining. This was back in the (glory) days when Sweden only had 2 national TV channels. His, and his fantastic sidekicks (Magnus Härenstam and Eva Remaeus (1950-1993) importance cannot be denied. Brasse Brännström will be sorely missed. There’s an emptiness inside that resembles the one I felt in light of the passing of the late great Ronnie James Dio. People pass away, it’s only natural. But some will live on in our memories and how we cater to our daily lives forever. Brasse Brännström is one of these individuals. We love you Brasse!
