JONES Jnr. is Evan Jones and Morgan Jones (no relation), the Sydney duo set to take Australia by storm off the back of their successful endeavours in some of the city’s most exciting bands like Thundamentals (DJ Morgs) and Rumpunch (Ev Jones).

With Ev’s daunting range and exquisite tone perfectly complimenting DJ Morgs’ breadth of beats, JONES Jnr. runs a gamut of Soul, from head nodding Memphis style to contemporary weirdos like Gnarls Barkely, all of which can be found on their debut mixtape ‘The Soul Tape.’

The group’s origins come from Thundamentals’ immensely popular take on Matt Corby’s ‘Brother,’ which was recorded for triple j’s ‘Like A Version’ and has very quickly amassed over ¾ of a million views on youtube.

Having recently moved into their very own studio, the guys are focussed intently on content with an exciting release schedule planned across 2013 which leans heavily on Morgs’ prolific beat production.

Never the less, they have emerged from the lab several times over summer for a varied array of support slots ranging from Soul Royalty Bettye Lavette to Blue Note singer Jose James, Neo-Soul hero Bilal and underground trendsetters Oddissee & Olivier Daysoul.
