Gabriella Cilmi’s debut album, ‘Lessons to be Learned’ has taken the number 10 spot in the UK album charts this week.
In doing so, Cilmi joins a select group of Australian artists who have achieved this level of chart success in the UK including Kylie Minogue, INXS and Natalie Imbruglia and Crowded House.
Cilmi, Melbourne’s 16 year old singing sensation, is now based in London but has returned to Australia this week to support James Blunt on his national concert tour.
Her first single, ‘Sweet About Me’ was released in Australia on 22 March and stormed up the Motorola Aria charts to take the number 1 position.
‘Lessons to be Learned’ will be released in Australia this week on Saturday 10 May.
