SIMPLE PLAN ANNOUNCE AUSTRALIAN PROMO TOUR MARCH 10 – MARCH 14

Self-titled new album out in Australia on February 16th, 2008!

Canadian rockers Simple Plan have confirmed that they will be visiting their loyal Australian fans from March 10 – 14, 2008.

The new self-titled Simple Plan album will be released in Australia on Saturday, February 16th and sees the irrepressible quintet teaming up with an amazing line-up of production talent including Dave Fortman (Evanescence, Mudvayne), Nate “Danja” Hills (Timbaland, Justin Timberlake) and Max Martin (James Blunt, Kelly Clarkson, Avril Lavigne). The result is the band’s most inventive, genre-defying collection to date – a blend of classic punk energy and ripping guitars coupled with Simple Plan’s hook-filled melodic sensibility.

"I think we all felt we needed to do something that would be a little more daring and stretch the envelope of who we are," explains frontman Pierre Bouvier. "We were just trying to make a record that will leave a little more of a mark."

Drummer Chuck Comeau adds that "there was sort of a realization we needed to shake things up and really take chances and just go for it. To do something that was still us but would challenge ourselves".

Simple Plan have sold over seven million albums worldwide and have had a string of radio hits in Australia including “Addicted”, “Perfect” and “Welcome To My Life”. The first single from the new album “When I’m Gone” is currently at #14 on the Motorola ARIA Singles chart and fans should keep a close eye on the video for a cameo appearance from celeb blogger Perez Hilton!
