JAMES BLUNT DEBUTS AT #1 WITH NEW ALBUM “ALL THE LOST SOULS”

James Blunt, our decade’s biggest singer-songwriter, has debuted at #1 on the Motorola ARIA chart with his latest album, All the Lost Souls.

All the Lost Souls once again captures Blunt’s unique voice and songwriting skill which have garnered him fans all over the world and is set to be a huge success in Australia.

“It’s been two odd years since Back to Bedlam was released and (for All the Lost Souls) I was back living in the same house, back in LA with the same producer, in the same studio.  But I guess the difference is that I’ve got a few miles under my feet at this stage and I’m more comfortable with songwriting and I understand the recording process which the first time round was a bit new and strange to me,” Blunt said.

Blunt’s debut album, Back to Bedlam, was released in Australia in 2005 and has achieved eight times platinum sales.  It was the biggest-selling album in Australia last year.

Blunt will be returning to Australia between October 13-19 to promote All The Lost Souls.

“I am so excited to be returning to Australia.  I have a lot of friends over there and this will be my chance to thank everyone for their phenomenal support of my first album,” James Blunt said.
Back to Bedlam was also No.1 in 18 countries, sold 11 million copies worldwide

and spent eight straight weeks at #1 in the UK, the longest run for any album since The Beatles’ hits set ‘1’ in 2000/1.  Blunt was the first artist to achieve a US no. 1 single (for ‘You’re Beautiful’) since Elton John with ‘Candle in the Wind’ in 1997.

James Blunt will be performing an invitation-only concert on Thursday 18 October in Sydney.  Fans should listen to their local Nova radio station to win tickets to attend.
