Artist Bio

FLO RIDA's rise to fame may seem like an overnight success story, but the hip hop sensation has been working towards superstardom since his early teens. Born in a housing project in Carol City, Florida, the rapper (born Tramar Dillard) formed a four-member hip hop group called the Groundhoggz in the ninth grade and began writing rhymes. When the Groundhoggz failed to sign a record deal, FLO RIDA moved to Los Angeles in search of fame. With no money, he was forced to live on the streets. Then, after years of effort, FLO RIDA finally signed a record deal with Atlantic Records.

Today, the 30-year-old rapper is one of the most succesful urban artists in the world. His 2008 debut album, Mail On Sunday, spawned three massive singles, including the platinum-selling Australian #1, "Low (featuring T Pain)". 2009 is shaping up to be another massive year for FLO RIDA, with a new album set to drop in May and a fresh single, "Right Round (featuring Ke$ha)" dominating Australian radio. From his humble beginnings, FLO RIDA has shown the world that talent and determination can get you anywhere.
