Artist Bio
Cold Chisel’s songs and recordings mapped Australian culture, landscape, morals, humor, sex, love and doubt from ground level, in ways that continue to resonate in the 21st century.
Undoubtedly one of the most successful bands in Australian rock history, they formed in 1973 in Adelaide, and by 1979 they were the biggest live draw around Australia. Following the 1983 break-up of the band, the individual members went on to various, and in some cases, spectacular solo success.
In 1998 the band returned to the arena with a #1, multi platinum album The Last Wave of Summer, and a national sell out concert tour that played to over 150,000 people.
Songs like ‘Flame Trees’, ‘Saturday Night’, ‘When The War Is Over’, ‘Forever Now’, ‘Standing On The Outside’, ‘Choirgirl’, ‘Rising Sun’, ‘Four Walls’ and ‘Bow River’ are Australian classics that have helped define our national experience and collective identity over the last thirty years.
